Geek Day 5K – Don’t Panic and Carry a Towel

Geek Pride Day is celebrated each year on May 25! The date was chosen because its the date that the movie Star Wars was released.  Let’s face it, we all are geeks in our own way and we all have things that we “GEEK OUT” on.  Perhaps you geek out on reading or science or solving mathematical equations, or you geek out on trying new recipes, learning different cultures or   learning survival skills.  One thing is for sure, there are millions of us out there that GEEK OUT on running, jogging and/or walking.  So it’s time to GET YOUR GEEK ON and celebrate Geek Day by completing a virtual 5K and we’ll send you an awesome GEEK DAY MEDAL! (medals are 3.5 inches) in honor of a cult favorite, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Along with celebrating all GEEKS worldwide, we will also be donating 15% of every registration to PENCILS OF PROMISE, an incredible organization that builds schools for children around the world, to give more kids an opportunity to gain an education.  We’re excited to do our part and help build a new school!

What: This is a 5K virtual run (or walk) to celebrate the GEEK in all of us.

When: Complete your race any time in May  2017.  If you can do it on May 25 (the actual Geek Pride Day) that would be even better!

*Medals and bibs will begin shipping mid-April.

Where:  You choose the course and you time yourself (you’ll report your finishing time to us).

Why:  Because this is our way of celebrating Geek Pride Day and to help raise funds for an amazing organization: PENCILS OF PROMISE.

Cost:  The price is $17 and that includes your medal, bib and shipping. Plus, at least 15% of every entry will be donated to Pencils of Promise.  *We are in no way affiliated with this charity, we like to choose a different charity for each of our races and are happy to raise funds for them.Register-Now_click_here
